Message from AASA President
Monday, April 29, 2019
On behalf of the board, I am writing to inform you that due to her career changes, Bess Wildman has resigned her position as communication chair. She expressed a considerable amount of gratitude for service on the board and to the organization as a whole. However, now that she is no longer in academic healthcare, her interests and time need to be focused in a different direction. With that, we will still have the opportunity to interact, but with Bess as member of a sponsor organization.
In such times as a board vacancy, the president is tasked with naming an individual to complete the term. In anticipation that this may occur, we discussed Georgia Smith as that replacement at the January board meeting in Dallas. Accordingly, I have asked Georgia Smith to step in and she accepted. She was already working very closely with Bess and is our best option to ensure a smooth transition. Learn more about Georgia online here.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I welcome your feedback and opportunity to discuss further. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and wish Bess well in her new endeavors! We all continue to be impressed with her career trajectory. I know you will want to keep in contact with her.
