AASA is pleased to offer Conference Scholarships for this year’s Annual Conference in Washington, DC, from September 26–28, 2026. These scholarships are intended to support individuals whose attendance will benefit both their current roles and future career goals. Two scholarships will be awarded, each covering the full conference registration fee. This is a great opportunity to attend a premier event and connect with peers. We welcome a broad range of proposals that support leadership development, finance and administration, and advancement of the clinical, research, and education missions within surgical departments. Priority will be given to proposals aligned with our conference theme, “Monumental Moves: Bold Leadership, Lasting Impact.”

Proposals are being accepted for the following:

  • Concurrent Educational Session Presentations (30 minutes)
  • Panel Discussions / Case-Based Sessions
  • Facilitate an Interactive Breakout Session (30 minutes)
    • Proposed focused areas include:
      • Finance
      • Administration
      • Clinical Operations
      • Education
      • Research

Proposal Submission Deadline: All proposals must be submitted by June 5, 2026

The Society of Surgical Chairs and the Association of Academic Surgical Administrators will host their annual joint session on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in Washington, D.C. “How I Built Something I’m Proud Of,” will spotlight real-world examples from Chairs of Surgery and Surgical Administrators who built a program they are particularly proud of across one of our missions---clinical, research, or education—often amid complexity, resistance, or limited resources. Panelists will share what worked, what didn’t, and the lessons learned along the way. We are seeking stories that go beyond theory and focus on practical leadership, partnership, and execution. Submissions from both Chairs of Surgery and Surgical Administrators are encouraged.

Submission deadline is March 31.
