|Additional Trainings to Come!|
Within our member feedback after the 2017 Annual Conference in San Diego we heard the desire from members to receive additional training in professional development and leadership areas. Six weeks ago AASA shared a Request for Proposals (RFP) with multiple vendors for additional training services for AASA members. This RFP can be viewed in our member tool kit. We were pleased to receive six strong submissions that all would have provided strong valuable content for our AASA members. Our planning committee selected to partner with the National Institute of Leadership and Organizational Development (NILOD).
In an effort to minimize travel costs and pair events we will work with the team at NILOD to confirm programming to occur in conjunction with our annual meeting in Boston in October, 2018. More details to come with this additional content most likely being prior to the start of the conference. The intent of this process is for the RFP and 2018 training to be the beginning of additional professional development training to continue into future years. If you have any questions or input please contact me or Christal Moore.
In addition to the partnership with NILOD we would like to explore offering a small cohort the opportunity to pursue additional training and certification within Coaching. We all informally coach our faculty and team members. If there are 15 individuals within AASA that would like to receive this training the cost would be substantially less than pursuing on your own. We currently have two proposals for the training. They range from $1,500 to $3,500. The $1,500 option is a three day (half days each) virtual training that provides trainees with training, certification and a 600 page tool that can be branded to your organization. There are 3 board members that are already interested. If interested please email Renee.
We are excited about the response to our RFP for additional training for you, our members. We look forward to providing you with the opportunity prior to the annual conference and planning additional offerings for you in the upcoming year. Please let us know if you are interested in the coaching training by Monday, April 16th.
